Nuclear issues have topped the agenda at talks between Russian President Dmitri Medvedev and his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
The meeting came as Tehran said it has developed and successfully tested its own version of a missile system that Moscow refused to sell it last September amid fears that Iran was trying to build nuclear arms.
The Russian S-300 system can be used to shield nuclear installations and to detect and destroy ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and low-flying aircraft. Iran says however that it has upgraded its previously acquired S-200 system to perform like the S-300. Tests are on-going, and Iranian military officials say that they convey a message of peace and friendship to neighbouring countries and a fierce warning to enemies.
