Braving wind and rain, thousands of Harry Potter fans packed London’s Leicester Square for the world premiere of the penultimate film of the series.

The stars, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint were there along with the woman behind the phenomenon, J K Rowling.

Shot over 14 months, the film is being released in two parts. But for the actors who have played their parts for 10 years, it is the end of an era.

Emma Watson, alias Hermione Granger, summed up the end of the shoot.

“It was emotional and scary, but it’s also exciting that it’s over,” she said. “I think we are all ready to move on.”
