Germany’s trade surplus has soared to its highest level in nearly two years following a twice-as-fast as-expected jump in exports in September.
It follows two months of decline, and along with lower than expected imports bodes well for the end-of-year figures. Germany is carving out large shares in emerging markets despite a strengthening euro, although next year is expected to be flatter.
