When Latino crooner Ricky Martin attended a book signing in New York, the fans came out in force. He was signing copies of his autobiography, “Me” which he says includes personal reflections on his early childhood, and sexual orientation. The book has been published simultaneously in English and Spanish.
Ricky Martin said: “I knew a long time ago who I was and my nature. I was very comfortable with it, many years ago, and I was looking for the right way to do it. I didn’t know if I was going to be through a song, I didn’t know if it would be through an exclusive interview, I didn’t know if it was going to be through a book, or through Twitter, like I did. But the most important thing is that it was done when it needed to be done, when I was ready, when I was completely at peace. I guess everybody has to go through their own process, a spiritual process, to be able to stand in front of the mirror and look at yourself and start asking questions and say, ‘this is you,’ and lift your head up high and be happy about it and be proud.”
“Me” is out now.
