US Fed will buy up $600 billion of bonds

The US Federal Reserve has clarified the details on a second round of quantitative easing.

In a move designed to shift a stagnating economy, Chairman Ben Bernanke officially committed to a substantial purchase of Treasury bonds. $600 billion dollars worth will be bought up by 2011 in tranches of $75 billion dollars per month.
