Following in Paul’s footsteps comes Paul II. The octopus whose antics predicted who would win all the important FIFA World Cup matches earlier this year (like: Spain will beat the Netherlands in the end) having died, a replacement was needed at the Oberhausen Sea Life Centre in Germany.
Paul II, still young, has not been tested: it is still too early to tell if his predecessor (or her predecessor, not sure about that yet either) had a unique gift for psychic prediction, if it was something in the water or if any octopus can do it.
Until the French-born substitute has earned his spurs, (or her spurs) all bets are off. The first eight-legged oracle was born in English waters. Fans are on tenterhooks.
