Bruce Springsteen enjoyed a warm red carpet reception from hundreds of fans at the Rome Film Festival.

‘The Boss’ was in town for the premiere of a new documentary called ‘The Promise: The Making of Darkness on the Edge of Town.’

The documentary includes original footage of Springsteen and the E Street Band from the 1970s when ‘The Darkness on the Edge of Town’ album was made.

Also at the Rome Film Festival was actor Aaron Eckhart who dropped in to present the new drama ‘Rabbit Hole.’

Playing a grieving parent opposite Nicole Kidman, Eckhart prepared for the film role by attending sessions with a grief group.

The film analyses the relationship between two parents forced to confront the loss of their four-year old child.
