A major security alert is underway on both sides of the Atlantic after a suspected bomb was found on a cargo plane in the United Kingdom.
The flight for the UPS package delivery firm had apparently stopped in London, en route from Yemen to Chicago in the United States. Reports suggested a ink toner cartridge on the plane had been converted into a bomb but an FBI source said initial tests found no explosives.
A suspicious package were also reported on Friday morning at East Midlands Airport in central England.
And security checks have been taking place on cargo planes at Philadelphia airport and Newark airport in New Jersey, both in the US.
Suspicious packages have reportedly also been found on a delivery truck in New York.
The scare comes just days before the US midterm elecions.
