At least 11 people have died and three more are missing following flash floods in southern Russia.
The bridge linking two settlements was swept away without warning, leaving many stranded.
The heavy rain has now subsided in the mainly agricultural region of Krasnodar, 1500 kilometres south of Moscow.
“There were people up in trees, calling for help,” said one young girl. “I saw a woman with a torch, she called for help, but then the water dragged her away.”
The water ebbed away as quickly as it had come, revealing a trail of devastation left in its wake.
280 people have been evacuated from their homes.
Some have already made brief trips back to survey the extent of the damage.
