High school students join protests in France

High school students have joined the pension protests across France this week.

Clashes erupted in the city of Lyon between demonstrators and the riot police.

360 schools across the country were closed this morning due to protests by students.

In Paris, pupils gathered at the town hall in the suburb of Montreuil, after a 16-year-old was hit in the face by a “flashball” device, used by police for crowd control.

The teenager is described as in a serious condition in hospital. The police authorities have urged their officers to be prudent when dealing with crowds.
