A French national has been seriously injured in an attack on an oil and gas compound in Yemen.
It is understood a gunman opened fire inside the compound which is owned by the Austrian oil and gas group OMV. He has now been disarmed.
It comes after reports of an explosion near the British embassy in the capital, Sanaa.
Information is sparse but it is reported that a diplomatic vehicle was targeted and several bystanders were injured.
Its not clear if the attacks are linked.
In April, a suspected al-Qaeda suicide bomber attacked the British ambassador’s convoy, killing himself and injuring three others.
