Dilma Rousseff misses first round election


Ruling party candidate Dilma Rousseff didn’t get the majority of votes needed to win this sunday’s presidential race. According to the partial results released by the Brazil’s electoral authority, the former leftist militant aiming to become the first woman to lead Brazil has 46,53 percent of valid votes with 97 percent of the ballots tallied. Her nearest challenger, opposition candidate and former São Paulo Governor José Serra, had 32,77 percent of votes.
