Times Square bomber accused of second attack plot

The FBI has released a video of the destructive force it claims would have been unleashed had the alleged Times Square bomber been able to detonate his device.

The blast never happened but prosecutors plan to use this footage in court in an effort to show that scores of people could’ve been killed in what’s known as the “crossroads of America.”

Faisal Shahzad, 30, pleaded guilty in June to the failed bombing a month earlier.

Court documents made public on Wednesday reveal he told investigators he thought his bomb would have killed at least 40 people, and that he planned to carry out a second attack two weeks later.

The target of the second strike was not identified.

Prosecutors are seeking a life jail term for the Pakistani born US citizen, who’s due to be sentenced next Tuesday.
