Speculation is rife that David Milliband will leave Labour’s shadow cabinet after being narrowly defeated by his younger brother in the leadership race.
But he gave away no clues about his intent when he addressed the party conference.
“I am so proud of my campaign, I am so proud of my party, but above all I am incredibly proud of my brother,” he told the audience in Manchester.
The brothers have reportedly already held talks over David’s future role but he remained tight-lipped on the subject when pressed by reporters.
Both men had said they would serve under the other.
Ed Milliband has praised his brother’s loyalty and says he will make a decision in “his own time.”
