Police in Germany are increasing efforts to identify victims of a bus crash described as one of the country’s worst.
A total of 13 people died when a coach carrying Polish holidaymakers from Spain came off the road just outside Berlin.
Relatives of the victims arrived in the town of Koenigs Wusterhausen not knowing if their loved ones were among the dead.
Ewa Kramek, who escaped with a broken arm, said she saw another car come suddenly around a bend .
“The bus driver tried to avoid it, to escape to the left. We were under an overpass and it hit hard on the left side,” she added.
The 37-year old driver of the car and one of her passengers were among nearly 40 people wounded.
The A10 motorway, a major east-west route, was closed for many hours after the crash near Berlin’s Schoenefeld airport.
