Ultimate 'karaoke night' attracts world's best


All-American boy Edward Pimentel is singing his heart out in a bid to become the global king of karaoke in the World Championships in Moscow.

For the would-be pop superstar, the contest is part of a dream to make it big in the music business.

“I want to be a singer. I want to be a professional out there, you know, the album, the fans, everything,” he said.

Hopefuls have come from all over the world to belt out a power ballad or two. Yulia Kuryleva from Russia can count on backing from the home crowd in her bid to impress the jury.

Performers are singing for their supper quite literally, with a million Russian dumplings as the top prize!
