India is in talks with Research In Motion about accessing corporate emails sent via BlackBerry smart phones.
A senior Indian government source said that comes after the BlackBerry maker agreed that the authorities could read instant messages sent with the devices.
India is the latest countries concerned that terrorists could use the encryption in BlackBerrys to evade security service monitoring.
India had threatened RIM with a ban if it were denied access to data.
