A FIFA inspection Group concluded its visit of Qatar on Friday as they consider the Gulf Arab State’s bid to host the 2022 World Cup finals.
The head of the six-person team, Harold Mayne-Nicolls, did raise concerns over locations of the stadiums, which are close to one another, suggesting it could create logistical problems.
“From an organizational point of view Qatar has the potential to host an international sport event like the FIFA World Cup but it will pose a number of logistical challenges’‘.
In an attempt to woo FIFA Qatar have enlisted the help of 1998 world cup winner Zinedine Zidane of France who has been appointed ambassador for the bid.
Qatar face opposition from Australia, Japan, South Korea and the United States with the winners announced by FIFA on December 2 in Zurich.
