US healthcare giant Johnson and Johnson is talking to Dutch biotech company Crucell about buying the shares in the firm it does not already own for 1.75 billion euros.

Johnson and Johnson wants to strengthen its vaccine business, and is offering a 58 percent premium on the share price. Crucell is one of only two major independent vaccine makers in Europe, the other being Austria’s Intercell.
