Daimler and Renault are expanding their cooperation in the electric vehicles business along with Nissan. Emission rules are tightening and the car giants do not want to lose out, particularly when the EU targets 95 grammes of C02 per kilometre by 2020. The trio signed a deal in April for small cars, light commercial vehicles and engines, and this is now likely to broaden.
