In Venezuela, a plane belonging to the state-run airline Conviasa has crashed. At least 13 people have been confirmed dead while reports indicate 23 have been seriously injured after the plane came down on a property belonging to the government steelmaker, Sidor.
It is thought that 47 were on board the ATR 42 twin-turboprop which crashed shortly after leaving Manuel Carlos Piar airport.
