Iran says it will free on bail one of three Americans accused of espionage and held for more than a year.

The announcement from the Tehran prosecutor comes the day after Sarah Shourd’s planned release was unexpectedly halted by the judiciary.

She is now set to be freed on the equivalent of nearly 400,000 euros bail and permitted to leave the country. Shourd’s two male companions will remain in custody.

In May, at a hotel in Iran’s capital, the trio were briefly allowed to meet their mothers.

The three were on a mountain hike when they were detained near Iran’s border with Iraq, according to their families. Washington rejects the spying allegations.
