Sofia Coppola’s “Somewhere” wins the top prize at the Venice film festival.

The movie dissects the life of a Hollywood actor who becomes anaesthetised to existence by his intake of drugs and alcohol and his promiscuous sex life.

And Monte Hellman picked up lifetime achievement award the producer of “Reservoir Dogs” was handed the Golden Lion by none other than Quentin Tarrantino himself.

Hellman has recently made his first film in 20 years “The Road to Nowhere.”
