BP is delaying the release of its third quarter results by one week due to the complexities of its oil spill costs. The company says it struggled to publish Q2 results on time for the same reason and denies it has anything to do with newly-discovered losses. Internal and external lawyers put together a report this week which claims the blame for the Gulf of Mexico spill lay at the hands of BP’s contractors as well as BP. Its third quarter results will now be issued on November 2.
