Nokia appoints Microsoft boss Elop


Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has appointed the head of Microsoft’s business unit as its new CEO. Canadian Stephen Elop will replace under-fire Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, thus becoming the first non-Finn to run the 145-year old company. Nokia has struggled to compete in the smartphone market and saw its share price shed 40 percent in the second quarter.
