Thousands of teachers have been on strike across France today, but the action appears to have been limited with only between five and 30 percent of secondary and high school staff taking part.
However, many more are expected to mobilise tomorrow for a nationwide stoppage across several sectors in protest against the government’s proposed pension reforms.

Nonetheless, nearly all public sector unions have called on their members to take to the streets and early indications suggest their appeal will be widely followed.
The disruption is scheduled to begin on Monday evening with transport workers.
