Scores buried by Guatemala landslide

Up to 100 people are feared to have been trapped by a landslide as torrential rains swamp parts of Guatemala. Many of the victims were caught under a wall of earth as they tried to free a bus stuck in deep mud.

Emergency workers recovered the bodies of 18 people but warned it could take days to dig out all the corpses.

The incident follows another landslide on Saturday that buried a bus, killing 12 people.

Another six were killed on Saturday in separate incidents.

Record amounts of rain have fallen in parts of Guatemala and southeastern Mexico this year.

Thousands of people in the Mexican Gulf state of Tabasco have been forced from their homes by flooding.
