Apple unusually upbeat


It was expected that Apple was going to have a good second quarter but its results surpassed those forecasts.

It reported a 78 percent rise in year-on-year profits, boosted by increasing sales of its iPad and iPhone devices and particularly Mac computers.

Apple also gave an unusually upbeat revenue forecast easing fears that problems with the antennas on its new iPhone would hurt sales.
