Hotel fire kills 40 in north Iraq

At least 40 people have died and at least 22 have been injured in a hotel fire in northern Iraq.

The incident happened in the city of Sulaimaniya late Thursday.

Officials told Reuters that terrorism was not the likely cause of the fire and that it was probably due to an electrical fault.

An unknown number of foreign nationals are said to be among the dead.
