Euro zone inflation slowed in June rising by 1.4 percent year-on-year.

Consumer prices were unchanged from the previous month.

The annual inflation rate was boosted mainly by more expensive fuel, heating oil and cigarettes.

At the same time figures for euro zone industrial production in May were released showing a 0.9 percent rise month-on-month and 9.4 percent year-on-year.

Economists had expected a bigger 1.2 percent month-on-month gain and an 11.2 percent annual rise.
