UK and French inflation slip

UK inflation fell for a second month running in June to 3.2 percent.

But underlying pressures rose and inflation over the quarter was higher than the Bank of England’s latest forecast.

In France there were steep rises in energy and fresh food costs year-on-year in June.

Annual consumer prices increased 1.7 percent using the EU harmonised methodology, slightly down on May’s figure.
