With a suspected gunman on the loose, life is still far from normal in the rural town of Rothbury. But police have eased restrictions and an exclusion zone around the area in northeastern England as their manhunt continues.
It has centred on Rothbury in Northumberland since the discovery of a car believed to have been used by former nightclub bouncer Raoul Moat.
Just out of jail, he is suspected of shooting his former girlfriend and killing her boyfriend on Saturday, further south in Gateshead.
On Sunday, Moat allegedly shot and critically injured a policeman as he sat in his patrol car nearby in Newcastle.
A letter apparently written by the suspected killer declares war on the police, blaming them for ruining his life. Moat is said to have wrongly believed his ex-girlfriend was having an affair with a policeman.
