Three 'spies' admit to Russian links

US prosecutors say three of the ten suspected spies being held in the United States have now admitted having links to Russia.

It is alleged a couple living in Arlington, Virginia- next door to Washington D.C.- had fake passports and around 100,000 US dollars in cash.

According to prosecutors, another man had already told them he did work for Russian intelligence.

An eleventh suspect, named as Christopher Metsos, skipped bail in Cyprus and is still on the run.

The Cypriot justice minister fears he may never be found. Loucas Louca said:

“I think it’s very difficult to arrest him again in Cyprus, because…well, because in my opinion, I believe he’s not anymore in Cyprus. That’s my opinion.”

US officials suspect Metsos, a Canadian passport holder, of being the paymaster for Russian agents living seemingly normal lives in American suburbs for years.
