FIFA president, Sepp Blatter, has publicly apologised for bad refereeing decisions during the World Cup.

The head of the football’s governing body said that the debate on goal line technology will have to be reopened, despite a ruling against it by the International Football Association Board.

The decision comes too late for England. They lost their chance of equalising with Germany when a shot by Frank Lampard hit the crossbar, then clearly passed the line, but was not recognised. Germany went on to win 4-1.

Mexico also suffered during their match against Argentina, which ended in a 3-1 defeat. Argentinian striker, Carlos Tevez, opened scoring during the game with a goal when he was in an offside position.
