The UK property data company Hometrack says a rise in house prices in England and Wales slowed in June.

They were up by 0.1 percent, that was half of May’s 0.2 percent increase.

Year-on-year prices rose 2.1 percent, their best performance since early 2008.

However the number of homes being put up for sale rose at a faster rate than the number of buyers, potentially limiting future price rises.
