Soothsayer octopus tips Germany to beat England

There’s some good news for German football fans.

An octopus, famous for tipping match outcomes, has forecast a win for Germany against England in their World Cup clash this weekend.

Sucker pundit Paul has chosen a mussel out of a container marked with the German not English flag.

“It started with the 2008 European Cup,” Sea Life Oberhausen’s spokeswoman, Tanja Munzig, said. “Paul is a very curious and intelligent animal and in nature, they look for food underneath rocks. We made use of this and kept Paul busy. Since then he has been hard at work making forecasts.”

Paul’s made waves with his tips so far— correctly predicting all of Germany’s wins and defeats in the World Cup this year.

Rubbing salt into England’s wounds, although he now lives in the German city of Oberhausen, the soothsayer was born in England.
