Greek monks believe there is good in playing golf: In arid, eastern Crete, plans are in motion to develop golf courses and vast luxury tourist resorts, and this is right in a European Natura-2000 environmental protection area. Ecologists are firmly opposed, yet the Greek-orthodox church is in favour. The Church owns the land. All that is in Europeans.
