At least 69 people have now died after flash flooding struck southern China,
Torrential rainfall caused rivers to swell across the southeastern province of Jiangxi and Fujian.
Some 500,000 people have been evacuated owing to rainstorms over the past week that have damaged tens of thousands of homes.
The rains have swollen rivers including the Pearl River in Guangdong province, one of China’s manufacturing centres.
State media say some 5.6 million people have been hit by the flooding.
Just months ago, parts of the south-west of the country were hit by the most severe drought in a century.
