Opel still hopes for German aid


Opel has not given up hope of getting some state aid from the German government.

The carmaker’s Chief Executive Nick Reilly said they will now look at all the different potential options for funding.

Germany’s economics minister has rejected Opel’s request for just over one billion euros in loan guarantees, but there are splits in the coalition government, and Chancellor Angela Merkel said that was not the final word.
