Mourners in Istanbul have paid their last respects to eight of the nine activists shot dead during the Israeli raid on an aid convoy.
A memorial service for seven Turks and an American man of Turkish origin took place hours after the surviving detainees arrived in Turkey to a hero’s welcome.
Cries of “God is Great” rang out among the 10,000-strong crowd who had come to honour the dead.
Medical reports say some of them were shot at close range.
Meanwhile, doctors in Ankara have been treating the 19 people who were severely injured in the Israeli strike.
Three people remain in intensive care in the Turkish capital.
Seven other activists, too injured to be moved, are still in hospital in Israel.
