Gaza aid activists return to a heroes' welcome


Hundreds of activists deported from Israel following the raid on the Gaza-bound aid flotilla bound have arrived in Istanbul to an enthusiastic welcome.

Seven planes were used to bring nearly 700 aid campaigners back to Turkey and many have returned with tales of mistreatment.

A plane carrying the bodies of the nine who died in the confrontation arrived earlier.

Meanwhile, two air ambulances with the seriously wounded landed at in the capital Ankara.

In the face of almost universal outrage at the violence meted out to the activists as they tried to break the Gaza blockade, the Israeli military have released yet more videos of the incident.

Taken by the activists themselves, Israel says its shows those on board one of the six ships, arming themselves prior to the Israeli commando operation.
