Full speed ahead for UK high speed rail network 
Sun, sea and uncertainty at Thomas Cook The Channel Tunnel operator Eurotunnel is buying Britain’s third-largest rail freight operator, GBRf from UK bus and train operator FirstGroup for 26.3 million euros in cash.
Eurotunnel plans to combine GBRf with its Europorte freight unit, which was bought from Veolia last year.
The purchase is part of Eurotunnel’s push to boost cross-Channel rail freight.
FirstGroup said the proceeds of the sale would be used to further reduce its debt.
