Two Canadian fighter jets have had to escort a passenger plane to Vancouver after a bomb threat.
The Cathay Pacific flight from Hong Kong was searched upon landing and police confirmed that no bomb was found on board.
Despite an emergency evacuation on the tarmac, there was little evidence of panic among passengers.
“They told us that there was some sort of terrorist problem and the baggage would be held up,” explained one man. Another said: “The security personnel were kind enough to keep the stress levels down.”
The two fighter jets were scrambled from a Vancouver military base as a precaution when the threat was received but did not land with the airliner.
