An English actress has claimed she was sexually abused by the director Roman Polanski in Paris in the early 1980s.
Charlotte Lewis, who’s now 42, went on to star in Polanski’s 1986 film “Pirates”.
No lawsuit has been filed and Lewis, who appeared alongside her high-profile lawyer Gloria Allred, said she hoped to bolster the current case against Polanski.
“I am also a victim of Roman Polanski,” said Lewis. “He sexually abused me in the worst possible way when I was just 16 years old, four years after he fled the United States to avoid sentencing for his crime.”
The Oscar-winning director pleaded guilty to having sex with a 13-year-old girl in the US in 1977 but then fled to France.
This separate allegation comes as the U.S. authorities are pushing for Polanski to be extradited from his home in Switzerland to face sentencing.
His legal team say they have no information about the latest claim.
