A suspected al Qaeda suicide bomber has targeted a convoy carring the British Ambassador in Yemen, killing himself and injuring three others.
Ambassador Tim Torlot was not hurt in the blast. Two security officials were wounded, along with a bystander.
The attack happened just outside the Yemeni capital of Sanaa, as the ambassador was on his way to the embassy this morning.
So far, no one has claimed responsibility.
Iraq’s Interior Ministry said the attack bore the hallmarks of al Qaeda, the regional wing of which is based in Yemen.
The yemeni authorities are investigating the area of the blast, which has been cordoned off.
