Iraqis are retrieving bodies for burial after one of the country’s deadliest days in recent weeks.
At least 60 people were killed yesterday in a series of bomb attacks on Shi’ite aras of Baghdad. Blasts went off near Shi’ite mosques and at a marketplace. Al Qaeda is being blamed. The attacks were an apparent backlash after Iraqi security forces, backed by US troops, killed the group’s top two leaders in Iraq.
Funeral processions have been heading from Sadr City in the capital to the holy city of Najaf.
