Google sees ad rebound

A rebound in internet advertising meant Google posted a 23 percent jump in quarterly revenue to the equivalent of five billion euros.

It said: “Large advertisers have come back in force versus last year.”

However the search engine’s shares fell as investors were expecting even better.

There was also concern expressed about the number of people Google is hiring. The workforce has increased by 800 – mostly engineers and marketing staff – so far this year.
