German legal challenge to Greece looms


Greece faces a legal threat from a German economics professor over the euro zone aid package agreed by the region’s finance ministers at the weekend.

Joachim Starbatty wants the Constitutional Court to block it on the basis that it is a subsidy that breaches European Union rules by offering loans at interest rates below the market rate for Greek bonds.

Analysts doubt the EU/IMF package will be blocked.
