British Airways and Spanish carrier Iberia have put pen to paper on a merger deal that will create one of the world’s largest airline groups.

The union, agreed on last November, will be completed by the end of this year.

The new outfit will be known as the International Airlines Group, but both BA and Iberia will continue to operate under existing livery and branding.

The move is expected to save the carriers around 400 million euros a year.
