The US Congress has approved the final changes to President Barack Obama’s epic healthcare reform law.

The final measures include making insurance more affordable, raising taxes on the wealthy and ensuring prescription drug coverage for the elderly.

“This health reform that some folks are still hollering about, still shouting about, now that we have passed it, they are already promising to repeal it… and my attitude is go for it!” said President Obama.

The overhaul of the 2.5 trillion dollar healthcare system is one of the most dramatic changes in US healthcare policy in decades.

It will extend coverage to around 32 million uninsured Americans and bar insurance companies from refusing coverage to those with pre-existing conditions.
